This is an announcement to all Asp.net developers thinking of using
ActiveUp's Mail component
(http://www.activeup.com/products/components/activemail/)

DO NOT USE THEM AS A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM! There service is
non-existent.

I purchased their product a few months back and ran into an issue with
their product in my web application . I sent in a support ticket.
They say they will get back in 24 hours. I have yet to hear from
them.

6 tickets later, 2 bounced emails, and 3 phone calls has resulted in
nothing.

They took my money and ran.

There are many other good alternatives out there, just keep looking.

I found a posting by a fellow programmer in google groups whom I
emailed. The post was from 2004. The guy got back to me and said he
experienced the same problem, so he and the company he worked for
switched products. That was 2 years ago! 2 years of poor ActiveUp
service!

Here's one better. A couple of years ago when I was using their mail component
I came across a weird bug with their licensing. It basically couldn't find
my lic file unless it was installed by their setup.exe program. I used reflector
to discover a bug in how they looked for the lic file. I politely emailed
them to let them know of the issue and how to fix the code, not really expecting
a reply. About a week later I got an email from the owner threatening me
about decompiling and quoting parts of the DMCA. Dropped the use of their
product right there.
