Default aspnet_wp.exe (PID: XXXX) stopped unexpectedly. - 11-03-2005 , 06:31 AM

Background: Just installed .net framework 2 beta and Visual Web Developer
Beta on WinXP Professional running IIS 5.1.

What happened: Start out by following instructions on a asp.net book,
compile went well. Just that when I fire up my IE6, it said "Server
Application Unavailable." The error tells me to check my Application Log. I
did, and it comes back saying:

aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 1116) stopped unexpectedly.

Try a reboot. There are so many issues that can cause this - some not
related to your code or machine. Did you follow the link to the support
center?

service is on, i played around with IIS... etc... I clicked on the support
center link, but it leads me to a page saying "sorry, no help available right
now, check with community center for more detail"... I really need to learn
ASP.net ASAP but I can't get it to work.. anyone.. please... help....

try re-installing or repairing your installation. Alternatively, you can use
the iisregiis -i (or -c not sure) option first at the command prompt to see
if that fixes it. I'm guessing you need a re-install though
