When I try to open my old word docs in my new computer loaded with Works, the
file doesn't open and says may be corrupted. It says this for all my word
doc. I don't believe they are corrupted, why won't they open?

You need to post your issue in a Windows group (rather than in this .NET
programming group) .
To find the group you need:

Select your language from the Tree View on the left, then scroll down to
Windows. In Windows, select Windows Vista and find an applicable
group there.
