Default patching games - 11-10-2007 , 11:02 PM

can someone please tell me what this means and how do i fix it...........

Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is
corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an errpr
reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

i get this when i try to patch Enemy Territory: Quake Wars i have looked
around and there is no solutions for this type of problem posted anywhere yet
and i have downloaded the patch from different places and the same thing
keeps happening so does anyobne know how to fix this i want to play my game
already and its getting really annoying.

also when i try to patch batlefield 2 and battlefield 2142 it starts
installign the patch then all of a sudden it will crash and show the message
"patching failed" why does this happens and how can i fix it again i have
downloaded the patches from different places each time and the same thing
always happens so if anyone knows how i can fix this i would appreciate it
ebcasue i want to play my games. here are my specs

CPU: Intel Q6600 core 2 quad 2.4 ghz
motherboard: asus p5k motherboard
video card: EVGA E-Geforce 8800 GTX

Have you checked for online support forums for the games in question? That
would be the best place to get answers to your patch issues.
If you can't find forums for the games, you can try in an appropriate
Microsoft public group as follows:

To find the group you need:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...D-2224A4FEB3EA

Select your language from the Tree View on the left, then scroll down to
Windows. In Windows, select your version of Windows and find an applicable
group there.

yes i have checked online on forums for the problems for the Quake Wars problem there is only one forum that i could find that has this question on it. it is by someone else and they are having the exact same problem as me and it has not been answered yet and for the battlefield 2 and 2142 problem there are many forum posts with solutions to this problem and i have tried every one of them and none of them have worked for me. does it have anything to do with my specs? damaged motherboard? damaged CPU? thanks
