Default Help: Opening Desktop Folders enables Search - 11-09-2007 , 02:00 PM

When I open a shortcut folder on my desktop, (Windows XP home), the window
opens and the search function is enabled. I can't see the contents of the
folder and can't turn off search. This happens when I double click on "My
Computer" as well. What setting changed and how do I turn off the search
auto enable?

Please try asking in an appropriate Windows XP newsgroup, rather than in
this .NET programming group. I suggest:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
