Running WinXP Pro, SP2. Meet all minimums. While installing Academic version all goes fine until it asks for Disk(CD) 2. The installation will not recognize the CD. I am wondering if I may have a bad disk? I can browse the contents of the CD while in Explorer. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and, if so, what was the fix. I have tried everything suggested at the Knowledge Base. I'd suggest that you look through your product documentation for a support |

I'd suggest that you look through your product documentation for a support phone number and file an installation incident. With the retail Academic Edition, you get two free support incidents, and an installation problem should not count against that limit. They will probably want to try a few tests, then if indicated, will replace your CD #2. -- Peter [MVP Visual Developer] Jack of all trades, master of none. Thanks, I tried self-support using email but they kept asking for my product id |

Success. Techsupport had me copy the two cd's to the hard drive and install from there. Also, the disk's were mislabeled. Supposed to be Academic but were actually Professional, so the cd key, which was valid for academic, wouldn't work. Microsoft support really came through big time. I was impressed. Great! |
