Default Installing Visual Studio Problem - 07-09-2003 , 02:27 PM

Hello there,
I am trying to install Visual Studio .NET, but I get the
following error. "Windows Component Update". I have
WindowsXP professional installed with all the updates. I
don't know which components are required or where they
are located for me to install...Does anyone have any
suggestions?

You have to install the MS Windows Component Update
included in the Visual Studio.Net.

It sounds like we're talking about Visual Studio .NET 2002, correct? One of
the CD's that comes with the product is the Component Update CD, and the
installer will prompt you for that CD. If, for some reason, you don't have
the Component Update CD, go back to your supplier and request it. I've seen
other instances of this happening where CD's are distributed on a college
campus that is an Academic Alliance subscriber. Is that your situation, by
any chance?
