Have you tried searching MSDN for articled related to the error message you
received?

You should also try posting in a group related to Internet Explorer, like:

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

I'll crosspost this for you. Hopefully an IE expert will be familiar with
your problem.

You must let us know what OS you are on and Service pack.. else we cannot
help you

I think you can search for the file hmmapi.dll and if you find it run
regsvr32 hmmapi.dll and register the file. But with this information it is
little we can do.
Reinsrtall your old browser (IE 6??) and then install IE 7 again.
