Default MCAD/MCSD Training available? - 01-20-2004 , 06:15 AM

I'm an undergrad going part-time to Baruch College in Manhattan. I'm a night
student since I work during the day. I heard a rumor that there may be some
free traiing at the college for the MCP and MCSD certs. I'm doing some
IT-related work at my job and took a programming class at the college last
year. I'm not a CIS major but I would like to move into programming.

Does anyone know about this class? I heard it's free. Any information would
be golden !!

Are you saying that you heard:
1. That there will be *free training at your college*, or
2. *a rumor at your college* that there is free training somewhere?
If the former, I'd be over at the CIT department following up and getting
details. If the latter, you *may* be in for disappointment. There are lots
of places where you can find a "free" sample training lesson, but I was
unable to find any *free* MCAD/MCSD training programs using Google and
Google Groups as search tools. There's lots of free information available
that will help you gain the knowledge you need for certification, such as:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/default.aspx
http://www.gotdotnet.com

There are many more, but these should get you started.

The MSDNAA has made available Microsoft e-Learning resources (MELL). Some of
these are books for preparing for the certification exams. This is available
to any school department that is a member of the MSDNAA.

I believe that Baruch College is a member so check it out and maybe you'll
get access to the MELL collection.
