I got a copy of Visual Studio .Net 2003 Academic through my school and
want
to install it on my home computer. I put in disc 1, and then installed
the
prerequisets without any problems. Then I put back in the first disc and
went on with the installation os Visual Studio, but wasn't able to change
the
install directory. I prefer to keep my applications seperate from
Windows,
but with this I was not allowed to move the installation directory. Is
there
a way I can move it from my C:\ drive, or does it need to be on the same
drive as Windows?

Thanks.
Erik
When you say "got through my school", do you mean you purchased the Academic
Edition, or that you were supplied with CD's under the MSDNAA program? In
either case you should be able to select a target location as long as you
have sufficient free space (approx. 3 gig).
That symptom normally occurs when you previously had a different
edition/version of Visual Studio .NET (a time limited trial, perhaps?) or
one of the .NET Standard Editions (like VB.NET Standard Edition) installed
previously. Is that your situation? If so, you need to uninstall that
product before installing VS.NET 2003.
