Not really. There are some textbooks that come with a copy of Visual Basic
and that's one way of getting something. A better way is if your school
(college or high school) belongs to the MSDN AA program (
www.msdnaa.net)
they can give students in computer courses copies of the software for free.
The cost to a college is $799/year. The cost for a high school (less
software is included but VB is) is $399.
