Windows ME and Windows 2000 are completely different products. So, you had somebody format the hard drive after new hardware was installed? If so, that person must have had installation media to reinstall the operating system after formatting the drive. Did you have up-to-date anti-virus and anti-malware installed? If so, have you scanned the computer to see if they can rid the computer of the current infection/infestation? Your other option is to format the hard drive again, then reinstall the operating system and good anti-virus and anti-malware software before allowing the computer to be connected to the internet. If you are not comfortable doing these things yourself, you should seek the services of a local tech willing to stand behind her/his work. Hi..thanks..well to answer your questions..she says she doesnt have it..we alredy used the anti virus programs it has and detected spyware and worms..we did what was supposed to be done and that didnt work..the only thing the virus did was delete some files..we have no control panel or system restore..if i had the disk i could reformat it..as i have done this on a number of comps..but im so used to windows xp..i thought maybe there was a way of finding a download for the missing files??? |
