Default .NET 1.1 created unwanted logon screen - 06-02-2005 , 11:54 PM

Upgraded .NET 1.0 to 1.1 to accommodate a program I wished to use.

Since upgrading, whenever I boot up PC, during the boot process I get a pretty blue screen with a vertical line down the middle. On the left side is a Windows logo and a msg saying To begin, click your user name. On the right is a cartoon with my user name below it.

Never have seen this screen before. I am the only user and the only person with access to the PC, and do not wish to have to log on each time I boot. How do I arrange to bypass this screen during boot?

For info, generic Dell P4 running WinXP SP2. Will be most appreciative of any help. Thanks.

No m8 I believe I noticed this too many moons ago. I think it would have
been better for the installation of the Framework not to cause any minor
changes because it could leave a lot of novice home users scratching their
heads and could discourage the uptake of it. I think the reason it happens
is that pre Framework you only have one user account therefore windows logs
straight on. Post framework a couple of user accounts are added, thereby
causing this problem.

There are several ways to get around this (including direct registry
changes), but the easiest way is to use TweekUI
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

Scroll down to the Logon / AutoLogon section.

There are lots of other nice tweeks and stuff you can do too, but be careful
not to make too many changes in one go.

Mark.
