When I did my install I had a similar problem. It seems to hang up when
trying to stop iis for the install.
To solve the problem I set IIS to manual and stopped it before I started the
install.
Went right through and finished nicely after that.

Has anyone had any problems updating the dotnet framework to 1.1 on a
Windows 2000 machine?

When I try to update it from the Windows Update page, it will get right up
to 100% and then freeze.

If I just download the file, and install from there, it gets halfway and
stops. When it does this is says, "Stopping services. Service:
iisadmin."

What does this mean? Is there a way that I can fix this?

I had the same problem except it was SQL Server it couldn't stop. Same
solution...
