Default use of XML with ADO.Net - 09-04-2006 , 04:25 AM

Hi

I need answer to the problem below.
Ques: I have a table in SQL. For this table I generate a XML file. This XML
file I use to fill in the
Datatset and then bind it to say, DataGrid. Now if I do editing
on the data in the DataGrid would
I observe the change in the SQL table also.

Note: the XML file is in some different folder other than the bin
directory of WebApplication.

What is the question?

1. Why is SQL updated? Most likely you have the full roundtrip bound (which
can be done drag and drop in Windows Forms and ASP.NET (2.0 only without any
code)).

The fact you do not have it in /bin means nothing. The fact it is an XML
file really means nothing. The big issue is the binding and the fact that
you have the full round cycle set up in your code. If that is not your
intent, you need to take control.
