Default Windows 2003 R2 SP1 random COM+ errors - 11-20-2007 , 10:48 AM

Hi,

I was wondering is anyone could shed some light into the current problems we
are seeing on one of our server boxes at our clients site. We are seeing
random errors as follows:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: COM+
Event Category: (98)
Event ID: 4822
Date: 20/11/2007
Time: 10:36:04
User: N/A
Computer: APFUSION185
Description:
A condition has occurred that indicates this COM+ application is in an
unstable state or is not functioning correctly. Assertion Failure: (nID >=
0x0200 && nID <= 0xffff) || hRes != 0

Server Application ID: {DA8589B9-89A4-441F-A882-E838FB71555E}
Server Application Instance ID:
{40213BD9-0CE7-45F4-8204-374761EA5411}
Server Application Name: PDAMGRBLL
The serious nature of this error has caused the process to terminate.
COM+ Services Internals Information:
File: d:\nt\public\sdk\inc\atl30\atlbase.h, Line: 6258
Comsvcs.dll file version: ENU 2001.12.4720.2517 shp

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

These COM+ components are running under .NET 1.1 SP1.

Is there a serviced component underneath this? What does it do?

Yes it's a managed serviced component that reads\writes to\from SQL Server in
most cases. In some cases it reads from MSMQ.
