Default [ANN] db4o - database for objects - v. 2.7 for .NET - 10-14-2003 , 04:36 PM

Hi all,

I would like to announce the latest release of our
object database engine db4o.

After implementing a Java-To-C# converter specifically
for db4o, we are now able to deploy the same core code
and quality to the two major mainstream programming
platforms: Java and .NET.

The small 250kB footprint of our engine makes it suitable
for use on embedded systems, PDAs and mobile phones.

Accordingly our .NET version also runs on the .NET
CompactFramework, so you can use it to develop
applications for WindowsCE, PocketPC and Windows
Mobile 2003.

db4o also scales to larger applications with database
file sizes of up to 1 GB, and of course you can use
an unlimited (OS limits) number of files at the same
time. One of our key customers uses db4o to build the
first integrated control system for highspeed trains.
His realtime SCADA application benefits from the
unmatched storage performance of our engine.

The features of db4o include ACID transactions,
query-by-example, the S.O.D.A. object query API,
WeakReference object identity management, and
automatic class schema recognition.

The key advantage of db4o is it's simplicity:
Use one line of code to store any object.

The exceptional simplicity directly lead to:
- faster time-to-market
- lower development costs
- best possible refactorability and maintenance
- faster execution time

You are invited to evaluate and to benchmark our
product. Trial versions are available for download
from our website: http://www.db4o.com

Enjoy!

Kind regards,
Carl
