Default getting WPF to use graphics hardware - 10-18-2007 , 04:08 AM

I am using a Samsung laptop with NVidia GeForce FX Go5200 graphics chip.
Unfortunately the latest drivers are dated 2003 and so WPF won't use DirectX
even though 9c is installed and works fine. I've tried setting a later date
in the registry to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around
this?
Thanks

Try getting newer drivers. The latest drivers on NVidia's website doesn't
support the 5200. However, there is a legacy driver's section.

http://www.nvidia.com/content/driver...cy/drivers.asp

In doing some looking, the latest legacy drvier for the GeForce FX Go
series of cards is dated September 28, 2007. Unfortunately, it only
supports the 6000 and above series. However, if you keep looking you may
find one from 05 or 06 that supports your card and the features you need.

Thanks Andrew. Unfortunately it seems that Samsung do something to do the
drivers for use with the laptop so it really needs Samsung to update their
drivers - which they haven't done that I can see. Is there a way of fooling
WPF into thinking that the date is later?
