Default Access Denied while connecting a Server from Windows 2003 server u - 01-30-2009 , 05:08 AM

Hi All,

I am getting an Access Denied while connecting a server from Win2K3 server
using WBEMTEST.

I will brief you what is happening exactly...

I have a Windows 2003 server(XYZ) which is in different Domain and which
monitors all the servers in the Environment using BMC software. To test the
connectivity between this XYZ server to ABC servers we do WBEMTEST if this
succeeds I mean if we can connect then the BMC s/w will monitor the server
performance otherwise if the Test fails then the s/w will not monitor.

We have enabled the ports 135, 137 and 445 on firewall and router to have
access. We are able to TELNET to these ports. We have provided the Access
Rights to the Account which is used to connect the ABC servers from XYZ
server and is part of Local Administrators group as well. We have also
provided the Full Privilege Access to WMI service for that Account. We did
restart the WMI and Remote Registry Server on ABC servers. We have also
checked for the Local Firewall (Windows Firewall) that is disabled. We have
deleted the Repository Folder and re-run the commands mentioned in one of the
Sites which will re-create the Repository folder. We did try connecting the
ABC server using the IP Address from XYZ server but it fails. Despite doing
all when we run the WBEMTEST we get the "Access Denied" error otherwise RPC
Server Unavailable. Please do update me soon.
