Can neone suggest me how to run a PHP prgm after writing the script in a text
file and saving it as .php?

You'll probably wanna try a php newsgroup for that...

I always wondered how people doing computing science didnt know how to use
email at uni.....bizarre...

Beyond that you'll probably have to install a webserver and PHP....it works
in IIS and appache and probably a whole lot of others...
