I'm installing Blackberry Desktop software 4.2 sp2 on windows Vista on several machines. For some reason the install program takes ages, up to an hour, and for long periods it seems that nothing is happening. Does anyone else have this problem and know why it takes so long. No other program has this issue, and i've downloaded the install files several times. -- Tom Jolly Jolly IT Solutions Ltd |

Unfortunatley I never got to the bottom of it...lots of people are having the same issues, but RIM don't seem to be addressing it, or will in the next service pack. I tried a bit of lateral thinking and made it less painfull by doing several installations at once. |

If anyone ever finds a solution to this problem, I would love to know...working on one computer installing DS V4.2 SP2 and it takes 1/2 hour minimum per install (some fool decided he would try removing the blackberry installed standard modem to switch com ports in a tethered modem setup and had to uninstall and reinstall)...so I have spent 1 and 1/2 hours watching Vista do nothing! AHHHHHHHH! I would be curious if the other were working with Vista Basic...
