Hi Lars-Inge Tønnessen,
Yes I had the .net framework installed and the antivirus and firewall
disabled when installing the j# redistributable package 1.1 but just to make
sure the .net framework wasn't corrupted I uninstalled it and tried to
install it again, only this time the installation failed. So I used the
procedure mentioned in
http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us;824643#6 and then
tried to reinstall. But the installation ends prematurely and shows the next
text in a pop up "Microsoft .net framework 1.1 setup has ended prematurelly.
If this persist, please contact product support".
And the Windows Installer log shows the following:
MSI (c) (04:B4): MSCOREE not loaded loading copy from system32
MSI (c) (04:B4): Assembly Error:Function not defined in specified DLL.
MSI (c) (04:B4): Note: 1: 1935 2: {45B8FB98-2A6C-11D6-A551-0090278A1BB8} 3:

MSI (c) (04:B4): ignoring fusion interface error, assuming we are
bootstrapping
MSI (c) (04:B4): MSCOREE not loaded loading copy from system32
MSI (c) (04:B4): Assembly Error:Function not defined in specified DLL.
So the problem now is not only installing the visual j# .net but the .net
framework too.
Do you think there will be a wAy around this without having to reinstall the
hole OS?

Did you remember to install the .net 1.1 framework first, and to disable the
anti virus software (that will prevent any "hostile" scripts to run) before
you installed it?
