Default Enterprise Library - SQL Server sproc return value? - 11-01-2005 , 03:27 PM

Can anyone show to get a SQL Server stored procedure RETURN VALUE using the
Enterprise Library June 2005 edition?

I tried
Database db = DatabaseFactory.CreateDatabase();
db.ExecuteNonQuery( "TestDataInsert", 1, "TESTING 123" );
but no way to get return value.

I tried
DBCommandWrapper command = db.GetStoredProcCommandWrapper ("TestDataInsert");
command.AddInParameter ("@p_UserID", DbType.Int32, 1);
command.AddInParameter ("@p_CharData", DbType.String, "TESTING 456");
but no AddReturnParameter() ???

I found another problem with the DAB in the Enterprise Library.

The method
public virtual void ExecuteNonQuery(
DBCommandWrapper command
);
is supposed to executes the command and returns the number of rows affected.
But the return is void for this particular overload! Bit of a problem if you
want to use it.

Do MS support the Enterprise Library? or you are on your own?
This is giving me the impression that the EL is not such a good idea for a
professional outfit. I wonder if anyone has used it extensively and has an
opinion?
