I am going crazy. My PC had memory problems and reset itself several times
while I was working in VS. Since then, (after PC was fixed) I kept getting
the "web server not running ASP.NET 1.1" whenever I tried to open a new or
existing ASP.NET project. I tried the aspnet_regiis several times, checked my
IIS settings plus several of the ideas from MSDN such as the "remoteonly" in
the web.config file. Nothing worked. Finally I uninstalled VS and IIS. Then
reinstalled IIS, then VS. The page I saw on MSDN said I did not have to
reinstall .NET 1.1 if it already was installed.
Now I am getting the HTTP/ 500 Internal Server Error.
I have checked all my IIS permissions, retried the aspnet_regiis, iisreset
etc, but I still get the 500 error.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I am so frustated, I feel like throwing
the PC across the room.
